Dan Sterkenburg, Associate Professor of International Business
Biography
Dan Sterkenburg joined the faculty as an adjunct professor in 2007 when he returned from living in Geneva, Switzerland. He now is a full-time associate professor of business teaching international business and strategy.
Prior to joining Cedarville, Dan worked for The Reynolds and Reynolds Company in Dayton, Ohio. He first worked as a financial analyst for the 50 million dollar IT group and was quickly promoted to Finance Director and in charge of the entire billion dollar company's budgeting process. After assisting the Business Development team with financial modeling of many mergers and acquisitions, they asked him to move to Germany and eventually Switzerland to lead the financial aspects of the European expansion.
"This was the highlight of my career", states Dan. "I was able to take all of my past skills obtained as a CPA with Deloitte & Touche, small business experiences as a VP of Finance and IT Manager, combined with my fifteen years and upbringing in Brazil and apply them to our new strategic thrust into Europe and eventually Asia"
Calling
Although I had a great desire to teach at Cedarville, God worked through various circumstances to show me that this was where He wanted me to plow the ground for Him. I desire to show Christ to my students, through past experiences in the business world and current situations. I desire to share the 30 years of business experience, with its highs and lows, and hope that students will catch the life-long learning style that I have adopted.
