Annis Shaver, Associate Professor of German

Biography

Annis Shaver has been at Cedarville University since 2005. She teaches German and Linguistics courses, sponsors the German Club and coordinates the TESOL certificate program. As the wife of a career Army officer, she has taught German and English in locations across the United States and in Germany, in both academic and non-academic venues. She has presented at numerous professional conferences, including the American Educational Research Association (AERA), Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), and The History of Education Society (HES). She has published in Die Unterrichtspraxis/Teaching German, The Journal of Research in Science Teaching, and Journal of Teaching and Teacher Education. Her research interests include strategies and methods of teaching second/foreign language, pragmatic language, and the history of language instruction.
