Semester Length: Fall/Spring — 16-17 weeks (Two 8-week sessions per semester); Summer — One or two 8-week sessions

Program Courses

The following part-time student guide provides an overview of when courses are offered for the online M.Ed. program. As a part-time (or previous full-time/cohort) student, you may plan and select your courses based on the following schedule.

All full- and part-time degree seeking M.Ed. students begin their program by enrolling in EDU-6700 Technology in Education. As a part-time student, your schedule and time to degree will be different from the two year full-time students course sequence.

Transfer Credits: Up to 11 credits are permitted to be transferred into the M.Ed. program. Contact the office of the registrar with any transfer questions.

Program / Graduation Requirements: In addition to the following reminders, refer to the graduate catalog for a complete listing of requirements for your degree.

  • Complete 34 semester hours in the program.
    • Core Courses – 21 credits
    • Research Courses – 4 credits
    • Elective Courses – 9 credits
  • Complete a minimum of 23 semester hours of the course requirements from CU.
  • Sustain an overall cumulative grade point average (GPA) of not less than 3.0.
