Rick Tison, Assistant Professor of History
Dr. Tison serves as an assistant professor of history. He completed his undergraduate work at Oakland University (1994), where he majored in English and minored in Political Science. Dr. Tison’s M.A (1999) from Baylor University is in an interdisciplinary field of study (Church-State Studies) focusing on First Amendment legal history. Dr. Tison’s Ph.D (2008) from the University of Oklahoma is in intellectual history/history of science. Prior to arriving at Cedarville, he taught in the Texas A&M University system (Corpus Christi and Kingsville campuses). Dr. Tison teaches History of Civilizations and the Teaching Social Studies Methods. He is currently preparing a manuscript for submission to the Johns Hopkins University Press History of Science and Religion Series.
