An introduction to the range of strategies and programs for learning and teaching the reading process, including the nature of the reading process, assessment techniques, and instructional strategies to provide increased comprehension of the textual material of the disciplines represented by teacher candidates in the class. This class is for MA Spanish and AYA teacher education program majors. Prerequisite: admission to the teacher education program. Corequisite: other courses in the AYA Principles of Teaching block or permission of department chair.
