A study of major literary works of Spain from the medieval and Renaissance periods to the 17th Century, with emphasis placed on understanding works within their socio-historical context, as well as their literary significance. Geography, history, and culture of Spain from prehistoric civilizations to the 17th Century. Prerequisite: SPAN-3640 Introduction to Hispanic Literature; permission of instructor.
