Renaissance & Reformation Europe

HIST-3050

A survey of the period spanning the fourteenth through the seventeenth centuries and focusing on the origins, rise, nature, and waning of the Renaissance, especially humanism, and the origins, development, and influence of the Protestant Reformations and the Roman Catholic Counter- Reformation. A special emphasis will be placed on the continuities and discontinuities between the Renaissance and the Reformation movements.
