This course will provide discussion and exploration on the disease of chemical dependency and the profession of pharmacy. Students will be provided information in such areas as the concepts of addiction, risk factors, signs and symptoms of impairment, emotional states during and after the active disease states, withdrawal symptoms as a determent to recovery, treatment programs, pharmacy board actions, recovery networks and returning to practice. Prerequisite: P2 in good standing in the School of Pharmacy.
