Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experience III (IPPE-III) in the second year of the professional curriculum is designed to provide opportunities for students to practice technical pharmacy skills in institutional settings and learn about pharmacy management as well as clinical and distributive functions. Students will demonstrate core practice skills: communication, calculations, ethics, medication safety, managing resources, wellness, health promotion, technology, informatics and critical thinking. Students in IPPE will meet with an assigned preceptor for a four hour period each week for 12 weeks throughout the semester, totaling 48 contact hours.
