Dave Ormsbee, Asst Dean, Admission & Advancement
Assistant Dean
Biography
Dave’s interest in health professions began during his college days at Cedarville where he majored in premedical chemistry as an undergraduate student. Not knowing if he was fully committed to medicine, he worked for a year for in the customer service center of Richardson Chemical Company to discern God’s leading in his life. Deciding that he was not suited for a career in medicine, he returned to his alma mater to take a position as the University’s first traveling admissions counselor. That move began a lengthy career in admissions, enrollment management, academic administration, advancement, and marketing at Cedarville University during which he earned a master’s in business administration from Syracuse University. His current duties also include serving on the president’s and provost’s cabinets as associate vice president for strategic planning and research.
Since its inception, Dave has been a member of the leadership team to establish the School of Pharmacy, including reviewing and contributing to the original feasibility study and participating in the first Pharmacy Advisory Council meeting. As the School has developed, his involvement has increased. In 2007 he focused on marketing and external relations efforts and then in 2008, as the time came to recruit the first class, he added serving as admissions coordinator.
