A study of the autotrophs, their fundamental role in aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems, and their anatomy and physiology with emphasis on the vascular plants. Investigations of ecosystem level processes and field botany will be conducted in early autumn; followed by the anatomy and physiology of autotrophs after mid-semester. Four lectures and one three-hour laboratory per week. Prerequisites: BIO-1110 Introduction to Cell Biology and BIO-1120 General Zoology and Population Dynamics.
