The following link is a document that will help you identify fossils collected from the Cincinnati area. These kinds of fossils can be found beginning about 20 miles from Cedarville and are from the “Cincinnatian” or upper Ordovician rock layers. These are among the finest invertebrate fossil beds in North America. The program was put together by the 2013 CU Paleontology class (GEOL 3200). The goal was to help novices identify basic Cincinnatian fossils by visual means. The program will be updated and improved by subsequent classes.
