Julie Furj-Kuhn, Assistant Professor of Social Work

Biography

Prior to coming to Cedarville, Professor Furj-Kuhn was the Executive Director of the National Alliance on Mental Illness and a social worker in inner-city Philadelphia where she worked with homeless, dually diagnosed women. As the coordinator of the Center for AIDS Research Community Advisory Board, she conducted extensive community-based research on HIV and AIDS. She has presented at national and international conferences; taught courses in Debrecen, Hungary; and is a macro-based social worker focusing on nonprofit leadership, social work with communities, social policy, and chemical dependency. Professor Kuhn also serves as the Coordinator of International Field Experience at Cedarville and sits on the executive board of SiFi Ministries Safe Harbor House in Springfield, Ohio.
