Basing our stance on 2 Peter 1:5-8, your eight semesters as a nursing undergraduate will include course assignments to correspond with the eight biblical character qualities of faith, moral excellence, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, brotherly kindness and love.

Cedarville makes it a priority to send students around the world through a variety of health missions trips and other ministry opportunities. You may be able to share your knowledge and faith at hospitals and villages in places like Togo, Zimbabwe, Bangladesh, Swaziland and other areas of the world. In addition, students have opportunities for international and global nursing studies.

State-of-the-Art Labs
We broke ground on our new Health Sciences Center in spring 2011. The 85,000 square foot building is now open for Fall Semester 2012. This facility provides multi-media classrooms, faculty offices, a conference room, and student lounges, and four new laboratories: a practice laboratory and two more patient simulation and skills laboratories, and a simulated clinical laboratory for FNP students to focus on primary care delivery.
Highly Qualified Professors
Your nursing faculty (all with advanced degrees,) will bring real-world experience and great teaching skills to the classroom — not to mention their hearts for God and for students. Several faculty have doctoral degrees (35%), specialty practice national certification, such as Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Educator, Public Health clinical specialist, to name a few. Faculty serve as editors, board members, and other community /professional service.
Future Possibilities
The largest single major at Cedarville University, nursing represents 11 percent of the student body. Starting Fall, 2011, MSN program in Family Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Educator, and Global Health Ministries.
Well-Rounded and Job-Ready
Four area hospitals — and several others around the country — offer externships to Cedarville students. The BSN program is nationally accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education and has full approval by the Ohio Board of Regents and the Ohio Board of Nursing. Graduates are eligible for admission to the National Council Licensure Examination for licensure in any state. MSN graduates will be eligible to sit for specialty ceritification (ACCN for Family Nurse Practitioner and Advanced Public Health Nurse, National League of Nursing Nurse Educator after two years of full-time employment in an academic faculty role).
Career Opportunities
Experts estimate between 600,000 and one million new nurses will be needed by 2020. And hospitals, health departments, uniformed services request our graduates, often hiring them sight unseen. They can be found working in nearly every state around the country, including the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, the Hershey Medical Center in Pennsylvania, US Army Nurse Corps, US Public Health Service, and Riley's Children's Hospital in Indianapolis.
