Alumni Directory Project

The Cedarville University Alumni Association has contracted with Publishing Concepts, Inc., (PCI) to produce an alumni directory, and we need your help. Over the next few months, PCI will contact CU alumni by mail, phone, and email to request updated information from you.

We understand that you might not want to provide information to just anyone, so please be assured that their request for information is legitimate. Below is a list of frequently asked questions about the alumni directory. Thank you in advance for your participation!

Why do I need to update my information?

Cedarville recently converted to a new database and we need to update our information. Mailing addresses, email addresses, number of children — information changes so quickly! This is a great time to make sure that Cedarville has up-to-date information about you and your family. The 2013 printed directory will be a permanent record for Cedarville, capturing all those who attended the University and showing where they are in 2013.

It is also a great way for you and your friends and former classmates to stay connected.

What questions will I be asked when I call to update my information?

You will be asked the following questions:

  1. Full Name
  2. Maiden Name (if applicable)
  3. Professional suffix (Esq., CPA, etc.)
  4. Nickname (name you preferred to be called)
  5. Graduating class year
  6. Home address
  7. Home phone
  8. Home fax
  9. Preferred email
  10. Job title
  11. Company
  12. Business address
  13. Business email
  14. Business phone
  15. Postgraduate degrees you have received (school, degree, and date received)
  16. Family members (spouse, kids [ages are helpful with kids, so we know when we can send them a Cedarville brochure!])
  17. Residence hall(s) you lived in on campus
  18. Activities you participated in while on campus (sports, social, academic)
  19. Cedarville-related activities you have participated in since graduating (e.g., reunion committee)
  20. Would you like to purchase the 2013 alumni directory?

What are my options for purchasing a Cedarville University Alumni Directory from PCI?

You have several purchase options:

  • Pride of Alumni Collection, which includes:
    Printed alumni directory
    Alumni directory on CD-ROM
Cedarville University Alumni Association sweatshirt and T-shirt set
    Companion airline voucher
  • Value Package, which includes
    Printed alumni directory
    Alumni directory on CD-ROM
    Companion airline voucher
  • Printed alumni directory only
  • Alumni directory on CD-ROM only
  • CD-ROM by Decade – anyone who graduated five years before and five years after you

Why is Cedarville using an outside contractor to complete this project?

With a small Alumni Relations staff, Cedarville needs to use a professional company to ensure that the directory is comprehensive, accurate, and completed in a timely fashion.

When will the alumni directory be complete?

The directory will be completed and printed in the fall of 2013 In order to be cost-efficient and environmentally responsible, PCI will print only the number of directories that were requested by alumni.

Is there an environmentally friendly version of the alumni directory?

Yes, alumni may purchase the alumni directory on CD-ROM.

Can I choose what information is listed in the directory?

Yes. As a standard, the following information will be printed in the directory:

  • Full name including the surname you used while at Cedarville (if different from your current last name)
  • Class year
  • Home mailing address
  • Preferred email address
  • Degrees received from Cedarville and other institutions
  • Job title and company

You may choose to have specific details omitted from the directory.

Why can I only update my information by calling a telephone number and speaking with a PCI representative?

Currently, this is the preferred method for PCI. Cedarville is working with PCI to create an online version for our alumni to use. Information will be posted as soon as it is available.

Who at Cedarville should I contact if I have additional questions?

Please contact Alumni Relations at 1-800-837-2566 or alumni@cedarville.edu.
