Biography

Dr. Carl Smith earned his M.Div. at Temple Baptist Theological Seminary in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and his M.A. and Ph.D. in ancient history at Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. While attending graduate school, Carl served for nine years as pastor at the Fairhaven Community Church in Fairhaven, Ohio. He has served as a professor and administrator for 19 years at Baptist Bible College East in Boston, Massachusetts; Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, Florida; and has been at Cedarville University since 2007. Carl has provided pulpit supply and seminars for local churches throughout his academic career. Carl’s life ministry verse is Galatians 4:19, “My little children, for whom I am again in the anguish of childbirth until Christ is formed in you!” This passage defines his goal in personal growth, interpersonal relationships, and his ministry of preaching and teaching.
