Biography

Dr. Mark Caleb Smith was born in Indianapolis, Indiana and attended Christian schools for most of his education.  He graduated from Bryan College (B.A. 1992), Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (M.A. 1995), and the University of Georgia (M.A. 1997 and Ph.D. 2001).  He has had teaching appointments at Tulane University, Calvin College, and currently Cedarville University.  He generally teaches classes in American Government with a focus on Religion and Politics and Constitutional Law.  Mark and his wife, Denise, have five children and live in Springfield, Ohio.

Sermon Topics

Mark enjoys teaching on the relationship between the Christian faith and government, especially using passages like Romans 13:1–7.  He also enjoys speaking about the Christian’s relationship to culture and a biblical view of war.
