Honor Weekend Music Showcase

Selection and Nomination Process:

Step 1: Nomination

To be considered for Music Showcase, students must be nominated by their band, choir, or orchestra director or by a private music teacher. Nominate students online or print a copy of the form.
Nomination deadline: November 15, 2013

Step 2: Selection

Cedarville music faculty will review all nomination forms and select students for the honor groups. Selections are based upon each musician's abilities and accomplishments as well as the musical needs of the honor groups. In December, we will mail registration packets and rehearsal music to all selected students and their directors.

PLEASE NOTE: If you do not receive your registration packet and rehearsal music by December 16, 2013, please contact us as soon as possible!

Step 3: Registration

The non-refundable $90 Music Showcase registration fee covers all meals, housing, an event T-shirt, and all other Music Showcase activities. Registration will be open from Monday, December 16, 2013 until Friday, January 31, 2014.


Who?

Exceptionally talented high school musicians from across the nation.

What?

Music Showcase weekend at Cedarville University develops and "showcases" high school musicians by participation in the Honor Band, Honor Choir or Honor Strings.

When?

Thursday, February 13 at 3 p.m. through Saturday, February 15 at 4 p.m.

Check in will be from 3:00-5:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 13 in the Dixon Ministry Center.

Cedarville University, Cedarville, Ohio

Cost?

$90 per student, includes all meals, housing, an event t-shirt, and all other Music Showcase activities. Registration fees are non-refundable after January 31, 2014.

Medical Release Forms:

To enable us to care for medical needs that arise during Music Showcase, each student must bring a medical release form signed by a parent or guardian when they come to campus. Print the medical release form now.

Travel Information:

As a courtesy to our prospective students who are visiting campus for events, the Admissions department subsidizes airport transportation costs. We offer service to and from Dayton and Columbus airports at a discounted rate of:

Dayton - $45 round trip
Columbus - $80 round trip

If you plan to travel by air and need transportation to and from the airport for Music Showcase, please fill out the Admissions Airport Transportation form by Thursday, January 30, 2014.

PLEASE NOTE: We will not be able to provide shuttle service for those who contact us after January 30, 2014.

What to Wear:

For rehearsals and other activities, modest casual dress including nice blue jeans or khakis and nice shirts or sweaters is acceptable.

For the Honor Concert, women should wear dress pants or skirt with dress top or a dress (preferably mid-calf length). Men should wear dress pants, dress shirt, and tie. Men can wear suit jacket if desired.

Music Program
