Who?

Recent 2017 High School Graduates accepted to Cedarville University

What?

The Wave experience will equip students to prepare for college.  This pre-college academic program targets high school graduates accepted to Cedarville University.  The WAVE program will address the needs of these students holistically as they prepare to succeed at a high standard university level by focusing on academics, CU life, strategies, and community building.

Students who attend will be enrolled in the Foundations course offered by our nationally recognized Academic Enrichment Center.  They also will pursue a proficiency track in either Writing Workshop or Intermediate Algebra.  Those who successfully complete this academic program will receive a yearly renewable $1,500 WAVE scholarship (potentially receiving $6,000 for four years)!

You'll have the chance to work on your Math or English proficiency and improve your study strategies (skills you'll use a LOT at Cedarville!). Don’t worry ... this academic program won’t just be class work! We’ve planned a lot of fun into the schedule, and you’ll be meeting the incredible staff of The Cove Academic Enrichment Center and other new students who are excited to start their Cedarville experience. Best of all, students who successfully complete the two-week WAVE program will receive a yearly $1,500 WAVE scholarship! This will be added to any other financial aid you may receive.

Each Student will pursue a proficiency in either Writing Workshop or Intermediate Algebra:

There are many things that students wish they would have known prior to coming to campus. The students will be offered seminars where they can hear practical and ideological thoughts from key individuals.

  • Life calling and Career Assessment and resume workshop
  • Learning and applying course content
  • Testimonies of faculty
  • Note taking - including Sketch Notes
  • Google 101 – Google docs, keeping Google calendar, etc.
  • Balance of social life and academics
  • Money Management
  • and much more

We want to introduce students to a life that will impact the kingdom of God. Beyond the big picture, research proves that students exposed to college experience prior to entry are more likely to succeed!

Our WAVE students can have interactions with our qualified faculty, staff and current students.

Students will enjoy:

  • Down time to work out, hanging out in dorm lounges
  • Playing sand volleyball or ultimate frisbee
  • Painting the rock.
  • Sky Lanterns
  • And other CU stuff.

So don't miss out on this great opportunity. Only 30 spots are available. You need to apply by April 1, 2016 to be considered. Acceptance notifications will be sent out on April 4, 2016.
