Geology as the context of ecosystems and human settlements. An introductory geology course with emphasis placed upon field observations of geological processes, both past and present. Coastal and montane geomorphology is a dominant theme. Also included are such topics as mineral and rock classification, seismology, volcanism, erosion, climatic effects, map interpretation, and fossil identification.
