An introduction to the rationale, skills, instructional and assessment strategies, teaching aids, resources materials, and appropriate technologies for the teaching of phonics. Emphasis given to the place of phonics in the overall reading program for young children. Prerequisite: admission to the teacher education program. Corequisite: other courses in the E.C. Methods I block.
