Biblical and Ministry Studies

Assistant Chair and Director of Graduate Studies

Biblical and Ministry Studies

Cedarville University is seeking applications for the position of Assistant Chair for Graduate Studies in the Department of Biblical and Ministry Studies. This is a ranked full-time, tenure-track position, available July 1, 2012, reporting to the Department Chair. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, teaching, and management of graduate courses and programs, including the new Masters of Ministry degree scheduled to begin in fall 2013. This position has the potential of becoming the Assistant Dean of the School of Biblical and Ministry Studies in the near future. Teaching in the graduate program, for which the Assistant Chair is responsible, will be a primary responsibility. The incumbent may also teach undergraduate coursework in the department as workload allows. Summer responsibilities may be expected of this position for additional compensation dependent on the status of program development.

The successful candidate must hold a terminal degree in Bible, Ministry, Theology, or another field directly related to the disciplines in the department; must have previous full-time administrative experience as an administrator in a higher education setting or at least 10 years as a faculty member in higher education with evidence of some administrative experience; must have a record of scholarship within the individual’s discipline; and must be eligible for a tenure-track position within the department. Experience with online education and experiential education is preferred. Previous experience in grant writing is a plus.

Curriculum Materials Center Librarian/Asst Professor of Library Science

Centennial Library

The Centennial Library at Cedarville University is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as Curriculum Materials Center Librarian in a progressive library and campus networking environment.

Primary responsibilities include supervising the operations of the Curriculum Materials Center (CMC) and its effective use by students and faculty of the University's department of Education; overseeing the development of the CMC's multi-format collection; selecting, training, supervising, and evaluating student assistants serving on the CMC staff; assuring that the CMC staff provides effective and timely patron service and instruction; and serving as a liaison between the faculty involved in the department of Education program and the services and collection of the CMC. The Curriculum Materials Center Librarian reports to the Director of Library Collection Services.

Required qualifications include a Master's Degree in Education or an ALA-accredited Master of Library Science degree; three years of elementary teaching experience and/or school library experience and/or related curriculum materials center experience at the college level; and broad familiarity with K-12 school curricula, educational programs, and educational computer applications.

Successful candidates will evidence strong organizational, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills; demonstrated aptitude for work with networking and educational computer applications; creativity in program development and service delivery; ability to work collaboratively and collegially as well as independently; a work ethic that emphasizes accuracy, detail, and decisiveness; and a commitment to and evidence of professional development. Library work or management experience would be helpful.

This position is a 10-month annual non-tenured appointment (August 1 - May 31) with faculty rank and is available August 1, 2012. Information Services Librarian & Health Sciences Liason

Centennial Library

The Centennial Library is re-opening the search for a highly motivated and energetic individual to serve as Information Services Librarian with liaison responsibility to the students and faculty of the School of Pharmacy and the College of Health Professions which includes nursing, kinesiology and allied health, psychology, and social work. Primary responsibilities include participating in the development and delivery of the information programs and services of the Library Public Services department, including library instruction and reference assistance with service desk rotation on evenings and weekends. Liaison responsibilities include reference, research, and library instruction services for the health sciences programs. Required qualifications include an ALA-accredited MLS; minimum of 3-years reference and instruction or comparable experience in the health sciences in an academic, medical, or hospital library; evidence of engaging training and teaching methodologies; demonstrated abilities in the use of medical and health sciences databases and resources; experience in the development of digital resources, multi-media teaching tools, and web-based applications; and a working knowledge of library systems and digital information resources. A bachelors, advanced, or professional degree in a science or biomedical field, though not required, would strengthen the application.

Associate Professor and Founding Chair - Occupational Therapy

Cedarville University is seeking an experienced faculty member to serve as the Founding Chair for a new program in Occupational Therapy. This twelve-month, tenure track appointment is available immediately. It reports to the Assistant Vice President, College of Health Professions. The Founding Chair is responsible for development, management, and instruction within the Occupational Therapy program and management of the off-campus site where the program is housed.

This position requires that the incumbent teach graduate courses within the department; work with faculty, administration, and various support departments to develop and maintain all aspects of curriculum, coursework, facilities, and clinical placement opportunities for a new Master’s of Occupational Therapy program, including meeting discipline-specific accreditation requirements. The incumbent will be responsible for recruitment and supervision of regular, adjunct, and clinical faculty members to teach in this program.

The qualified applicant must possess a current license as an Occupational Therapist with a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy; must have the ability to become licensed in the State of Ohio if not already. The qualified candidate must also hold a terminal degree in a related discipline as defined by the program’s accrediting agency. The qualified applicant must have previous full-time experience as an administrator in a higher education setting or at least five (5) years as a faculty member with some administrative experience. The qualified candidate must have a record of scholarship within the discipline of Occupational Therapy. Previous experience in program development and curricular design is strongly preferred. The Department of Kinesiology and Allied Health is looking for a ranked full-time faculty member to serve as the Clinical Education Coordinator for the CAATE accredited Athletic Training Education Program. This is a tenure-track eligible position with a start date of August 1, 2012. The incumbent in this position teaches primarily athletic training content courses and provides some service to athletics.

The qualified candidate must have a Master’s degree in an appropriate related discipline; a doctorate is preferred and required for tenure-track appointment. BOC certification and a minimum of three years of teaching in an institution of higher education are required; in unique situations, candidates with significant clinical teaching experience will be considered. The qualified candidate must be eligible for Ohio AT licensure. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The School of Pharmacy at Cedarville University invites applications for a faculty position as an Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences with a preferred start date of July 1, 2012. This position is a full-time, 12-month,tenure-track position within the School of Pharmacy. Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience.

The successful candidate will teach both theory and laboratory courses in the Pharmaceutical Sciences department related to medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, biomedical sciences, or pharmaceutics and an elective course in any topic of candidate's choice. The candidate’s teaching must involve student-focused methods of active learning geared primarily towards Doctor of Pharmacy students. The candidate is expected to work with faculty across disciplines to develop integrated curricular content which utilizes innovative strategies in problem-based learning methods. The successful candidate will also be responsible for developing and maintaining an active research initiative while overseeing student research projects. Additionally, the candidate should have a track record demonstrating leadership in their respective discipline.

The qualifications and experience required for this position include: • A Ph.D. in any of the pharmaceutical sciences such as medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, biomedical sciences, Drug Design and Development, or Biopharmaceutics. • At least one year of post-doctoral experience, either in teaching or research. • Demonstrated productivity in research and scholarship in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
