Art/Design/Theatre
The Department of Art, Design, and Theatre invites applications for a ranked, full-time, tenure-track, faculty position in Web Design housed within the Graphic Design program; beginning August 2012. This position involves teaching undergraduate studio-based web and interactive design courses as well as select Graphic Design courses. Expectations include departmental and university committee work, academic advising, and maintaining a relationship with the professional design community in the Dayton/Columbus/Cincinnati area.
A Masters of Fine Arts (M.F.A.)in Graphic Design, Web Design, or equivalent is preferred. A Bachelor's degree with active pursuit of a M.F.A will be considered. A M.F.A. is required for tenure-track appointment. The ideal candidate will have college-level teaching experience, have substantial professional experience in web design, be strongly market-oriented in curriculum and program development, and be committed to biblical integration in and out of the classroom.
Specific technical skills include demonstrated evidence of successful web design initiatives and projects, including developing and creating visual solutions for web mobile applications, and other interactive media; understanding and application of visual interactivity design, usability, and industry standards; working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and Flash.

The Department of Art, Design, and Theatre is seeking applicants for a full-time ranked, tenure-track teaching position in Theatre Costume and Makeup Design housed within the Theatre program, beginning August 2012. This position involves teaching undergraduate costume design and makeup design courses. Other expectations include overseeing related senior theatre projects; departmental and university committee work; academic advising; and maintaining a relationship with the professional theatre community in the Dayton/Columbus;/Cincinnati area. Additional responsibilities include creating costuming and makeup designs for main stage productions, managing and supervising the costumes and makeup for main stage productions, and managing and maintaining the university costume collection.
An M.F.A. in Theatre Costume and Makeup Design, or equivalent is preferred. A bachelor’s degree with active pursuit of a M.F.A will be considered. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have college-level teaching experience, have substantial professional experience including costume construction, and be committed to biblical integration in and out of the classroom. The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate they have excellent managing and communication skills.
