Assistant Director for Multicultural Recruitment, Admissions

This is a full-time, twelve-month, exempt position that reports to the Director of Admissions.

The purpose of this position is to develop and implement strategies for the purpose of recruiting minority students. This will be accomplished through a coordinated effort that includes visits/travel to prospective student events and schools, direct mail, phone communication, hosting of special events, and interacting with campus visitors. Functions of the position include developing a network with minority populations, involvement with church-related events with high ethnic minority membership, and developing key relationships with Financial Aid and Advancement with regard to financial assistance and scholarship opportunities.

Qualified applicant must possess bachelor’s degree; master’s preferred. Other qualifications include excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills and a love for and understanding of high school students. Experience in higher education is preferred.

Physical requirements include ability to operate a computer; to receive and express detailed information through oral and written communication; to sit for extended periods of time; and to travel as the position requires.

Assistant to the Senior Associate Vice President - College of Extended Learning

This is a part-time (20 hours per week), twelve-month, non-exempt position that reports to the Associate Vice President, College of Extended Learning.

The primary purpose of the position is to provide support for projects and office functions for the College of Extended Learning. Functions of the position include preparation of correspondence, proposals, contracts and other documents; composition of articles for internal or web-based publications; oversight of status tracking and minutes for the Institutional Review Board; and other support duties as assigned.

Qualifications for the position include a bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an associate’s degree in a related field with five years’ experience; proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; excellent communication skills, strong customer service skills, the willingness to work within an environment which supports the growth of the institution, and the ability to travel on occasion as required.

Physical requirements include ability to operate a computer, to sit for extended periods of time, to receive detailed information through written and oral communication, and to express and exchange ideas in the same manner.

Computer Technician - Information Technology

This is a full-time, twelve-month, non-exempt position that reports to the Director of Technical Services.

The purpose of this position is to provide installation, diagnostic, repair, and technical support services for the personal computers and related equipment on campus. Essential functions of the position include providing initial diagnosis for hardware and software difficulties, performing component-level repair, keeping accurate inventory of parts and components, assisting with the supervision of student workers, and other functions in support of the department.

Qualified applicant must have experience or aptitude for computer and related equipment installation and maintenance and basic working knowledge computer operation (running programs, installing boards, configuring options).

Physical requirements include ability to work in a variety of settings such as outdoors, confined spaces, and offices; to kneel, crawl, walk; to lift objects up to 75 pounds; to converse in person and on the phone; and to operate a vehicle.

Director of Project Management • College of Extended Learning

This is a full-time, twelve-month, exempt position that reports to the Senior Associate Academic Vice President.

The purpose of this position is to coordinate projects and work activities related to academic program development for the College of Extended Learning. Duties of the position are as follows: plan, direct, and manage the implementation of programs in association with the academic departments; develop full-scale project plans and associated communication documents; plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using project management tools; supervise project team members and contractors; and other duties as assigned.

Qualified applicant must possess a bachelor’s degree, advanced degree preferred; have experience in a project management capacity; possess strong proficiency with project management software and Microsoft excel; be attentive to detail, accuracy, and organization; possess strong interpersonal skills; and be able to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment.

Physical requirements include ability to operate a computer; to receive and express detailed information through oral and written communication; to gather, analyze and report project data, metrics, and general project information; to speak and make a presentation to a group of people; to sit for extended periods of time; and to travel as the position requires.

Disabilities Compliance Coordinator • Academic Enrichment Center

This is a full-time, twelve-month, exempt position that reports to the Associate Dean of the Academic Enrichment Center.

The purpose of this position is to manage, coordinate, and oversee the academic services and accommodations for current and prospective Cedarville University students with disabilities. Duties of the position are as follows: ensure compliance with ADA standards while meeting needs of the diverse student population; secure and maintain detailed appropriate documentation, records and communications; develop policies and procedures as it relates to students with disabilities; demonstrate knowledge of disability laws and regulations; consult and collaborate with campus or community personnel and agencies; review and interpret various diagnostic assessments; and other duties as assigned.

Qualified applicant must possess a master’s degree in a related field or a bachelor’s degree and four (4) years of professional experience working with people with disabilities in higher education; and have knowledge of current laws applying to post-secondary service for students with disabilities.

Physical requirements include ability to compose correspondence and handle routine supervisory matters; to deal effectively with other employees, students, faculty and staff, and the public both in person and over the phone; to handle sensitive, confidential information; and to have knowledge of legal requirements related to ADA and Section 504.

Financial Aid Counselor – Loan Specialist • Financial Aid

This is a full-time, twelve-month, exempt position that reports to the Associate Director of Financial Aid.

The purpose of this position is to serve students by counseling them about all sources of financial aid. Duties of the position are as follows: maintain knowledge and compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and operational guidelines; develop expertise in regulations and processes related to direct lending; assist in the FAFSA correction process; prepare and process Consortium Agreements for Title IV aid; provide financial aid counseling to students and parents through office appointments, email communication and phone calls; and other duties as assigned.

Qualified applicant must possess a bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, be proficient in Microsoft software products, have excellent oral and written communication skills, be able to work independently, and be attentive to detail and accuracy.

Physical requirements include ability to read and interpret general guidelines set forth for federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs; to add, subtract, multiply and divide; to compute rate, ratio and percent; to learn new software as required; and to follow oral, written or diagram instructions.

Floor Care Specialist and Custodian • Custodial Services

This is a full-time, twelve-month, non-exempt position that reports to the Manager of Custodial Services.

The purpose of this position is to effectively care for the specific floor area of assigned buildings and repair custodial services equipment when needed on the third shift. Duties of the position are as follows: shampoo and extract carpeted areas; buff hard floor surfaces; scrub and wax hard floors; clean and maintain equipment; perform regular, routine custodial duties; and other duties as assigned.

Qualified applicant must have a high school diploma or GED; one year experience with floor care equipment such as shampooers, extractors, high speed buffers, and scrubbers; and some experience in carpet care and repair.

Physical requirements include the ability to push, pull, reach, stoop, crouch, kneel, walk, and climb. Other physical requirements include basic analytic ability; able to work in conditions with routine discomforts such as moderate heat, cold, moisture, and noise; to lift, move, and carry objects up to 100 pounds; to receive and express information through oral communication; to work flexible hours including some weekends.

Instructional Designer • Center for Teaching and Learning

This is a full-time, twelve-month, exempt position that reports to the Manager of the Center for Teaching and Learning.

The purpose of this position is to plan innovative learning solutions for both traditional and distance education classes. Duties of the position are as follows: develop a working, consultative relationship with Cedarville faculty from all major disciplines; conduct extensive, complete needs analysis including audience and technology components; design innovative, instructional solutions that meet the needs identified; research accepted and emerging solutions for instructional needs; and other duties as assigned.

Qualified applicant must possess a graduate degree in instructional design or a related field; have experience designing instruction for higher education; be attentive to detail; possess excellent organizational, communication and presentation skills; have experience with learning management systems such as Moodle, WebCT or Blackboard; and be self-motivated, flexible, poised, trustworthy, and creative. Previous experience working with professionals such as web designers, graphic designers, and audio/video professionals is preferred. Physical requirements include ability to operate a computer and to receive and express detailed information through oral and written communication.

Staffing Services Coordinator • University Human Resources

This is a full-time, twelve-month, exempt position that reports to the Associate Vice President of University Human Resources.

The primary purpose of the position is to coordinate all tasks associated with staffing services: recruitment, applicant interface, applicant tracking and reporting, and new employee orientation. Functions of the position include working with managers to identify and meet staffing needs, posting and monitoring all position announcements, performing screening process to ensure all qualifications are met, providing on-going communication with prospective employees, maintaining all University organizational charts, reviewing and maintaining all position descriptions for legal compliance, and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications for the position include a bachelor’s degree in Business/Human Resources or a related field; a minimum of three years of business experience required; professional human resource experience preferred; a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point; the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality; and a strong commitment to professionalism and exceptional customer service. PHR Certification strongly preferred.

Physical requirements include ability to effectively communicate in person and over the telephone, to facilitate discussion and resolve conflict, to speak/hear clearly, to use office equipment during the normal course of the business day, and to bend in order to access files.
