Goals regarding the IRB and human participant research:
- To provide a moral screen for potentially harmful research studies, impeding them where necessary and modifying them where appropriate to keep potential harm within reasonably acceptable parameters.
- To assess that proposed research studies fall within acceptable ethical parameters, impeding them where necessary and modifying them where appropriate to keep potential harm within reasonably acceptable parameters.
- To screen studies which are incongruent with the Cedarville University mission and/or standards of conduct and impede their implementation.
