The editors of US News & World Report have ranked Cedarville University in the top tier of midwestern liberal arts colleges. Factors included in the magazine's evaluations included retention and graduation rates, admissions selectivity, and student/faculty ratio. The annual rankings appear in the magazine's September 11 issue and were compiled while the institution was still known as Cedarville College.
"We are pleased with this recognition of the University's value and quality of programs," said Cedarville University President Dr. Paul Dixon, "especially as the rankings were disclosed on the very day we became known as a university. Our mission is to offer an education consistent with biblical truth. We continue to strive to offer excellent academics coupled with an unambiguous character development effort in a spiritually dynamic environment," he added. "It is this combination that makes a Cedarville education distinctive."
