Jim Cymbala, senior pastor of the Brooklyn Tabernacle (N.Y.), spurred the Cedarville University community to growth as the annual Winter Enrichment Conference guest speaker Jan. 24-26. Pastor of the Brooklyn Tabernacle since 1972, Cymbala is co-author of two best-selling books, Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire and Fresh Faith, and a just-released book, Fresh Power. Cymbala is a frequent conference speaker with a heart for pastors.
Cymbala's messages revolved around principles of Christian living. His topics included remaining open to God's call, trusting and obeying, praying instead of worrying, and striving for unity within the body.
On Jan. 25, a special Pastors Summit event allowed 1,000 pastors to visit campus to partake in Cymbala's ministry. Pastors attended Cymbala's morning chapel service, as well as a keynote address titled "The Heart of God's Servant" and a Q&A session.
