Cedarville, Ohio-Cedarville University will host popular contemporary Christian performers Dick and Mel Tunney in concert on Saturday, May 5.
Dick Tunney was born and raised in Dayton. For nearly two decades, the Tunneys have been involved in contemporary Christian music in a variety of arenas. They met in 1978 while part of the musical group "TRUTH" and were married in 1980. Later, Mel was the founding member of the critically acclaimed and Grammy nominated vocal group "First Call." Dick has been the musical director for some of the biggest names in Christian music.
The Tunneys have penned songs recorded by Steve Green, Larnelle Harris, Sandi Patty, The Imperials, Glad, and First Call, among others. Additionally, some of the Tunney's songs now appear in several hymnals that cross denominational lines. The duo also continues to be involved in the Nashville recording landscape--Mel as a session singer and Dick as producer of recordings that range from children's projects and custom albums to live made-for-television events.

The concert will be held in the Dixon Ministry Center at 8 p.m. Tickets are $6. For more information regarding this performance, contact the University Campus Activities Office at 937-766-4491.
