Cedarville, Ohio—Cedarville University’s vocal music performance groups will present their annual Choral Classics concert on Tuesday, April 23 at 7 p.m. in the Jeremiah Chapel of the Dixon Ministry Center on the Cedarville campus.
The Concert Chorale, Women’s Choir, Men’s Glee Club, and Jubilaté (mixed ensemble) will perform John Rutter’s Gloria, accompanied by organ and the University Brass Choir, and The Peaceable Kingdom by Randall Thompson. The guest conductor for the evening will be David Stevens, music director of St. David’s Episcopal Church in Austin, Texas.
From 1985-2000 Stevens directed a consortium of choruses, chamber vocal groups, and an orchestra in a plethora of works including Bach’s B-Minor Mass, Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis and Symphonies #3 and #5, and Copland’s In the Beginning. As a tenor soloist, Stevens has sung and recorded with Helmut Rilling, the late Robert Shaw, and numerous orchestras.
