Cedarville, Ohio - Cedarville University will host a Pastors Summit on Tuesday, Nov. 4 at 9 a.m. Nearly 300 church leaders are expected to attend. Dr. Mark L. Bailey, president of Dallas Theological Seminary, will be the featured speaker.
In March 2001, Bailey was named the Seminary's fifth president in its 79-year history. Bailey received his bachelor of arts degree from Southwestern College in Phoenix, Ariz., in 1972; his master of divinity and master of theology degrees from Western Conservative Baptist Seminary in Portland, Ore., in 1975 and 1977, respectively; and his doctorate of philosophy in Bible exposition from Dallas Theological Seminary in Dallas, Texas, in 1997. In addition, he has also led numerous tours to Israel and the Middle East and has authored such recent texts as To Follow Him: The Seven Marks of a Disciple and Nelson's New Testament Survey.
Pastors Summit is a part of Cedarville's service to local churches by providing valuable ministry resources to pastors. The one-day event provides an opportunity for church leaders to be refreshed through the teaching ministry of a guest speaker. By spending time on campus and meeting the students, pastors also experience firsthand the outstanding Christian education that Cedarville provides.
"The Pastors Summit at Cedarville is always encouraging and uplifting. At the end of the day we feel charged up and ready to go on in ministry. It's a great opportunity for our pastoral staff to have time together at this all-day getaway," said Dr. Floyd Elmore, senior pastor at Faircreek Church in Fairborn and former Bible professor and chair of the department of biblical education at Cedarville University.
