George Orwell's "1984" to be Performed at Cedarville University

Cedarville, Ohio—Cedarville University`s Nextage student production company will present a drama based on George Orwell`s classic novel "1984" on Oct. 30-31 in the Alford Auditorium on the Cedarville campus. Performances for this limited engagement will begin at 8 p.m. each night. Orwell`s novel about the dangers of a dystopian sociey was written in 1949. The novel brings to light the frightening possibilities of "Big Brother" control and a totalitarian government. Nextage is sponsored by Alpha Beta Phi, the Cedarville university chapter of the national honorary dramatic organization Alpha Psi Omega. Nextage focuses on presenting social issues to initiate discussion of controversial ideas and broaden audience perspective through performance. Tickets are $7 for the general public and $5 for students. Tickets are available at the Information Center in the Stevens Student Center on the Cedarville campus.
