Orchestra Concert Features Concerto Competition Finalists

Cedarville, Ohio—Cedarville University`s orchestra will be in concert Monday, April 28 at 8 p.m. in the Jeremiah Chapel of the Dixon Ministry Center on the Cedarville University campus. The evening will include the final round of the University`s annual Concerto Competition. Finalists Elizabeth Dudick (voice), Kyle McCarrell (trombone), and Kevin Vaughn (piano) will perform with the orchestra in a competition for first place. The Concerto Competition is open to all Cedarville University students involved in the music department. Three finalists are chosen by a faculty committee; the three then perform with the orchestra as a panel of visiting professional musicians determines their final awards placement. The results will be announced before the end of the concert. Dudick is a junior music education major from Wilkes-Barre, Pa. McCarrell, a Quarryville, Pa., native, is a junior music performance and multi-age music education major. Vaughn, a freshman from Fort Bragg, Calif., is majoring in music performance.
