Winners Named in Cedarville University Concerto Competition

Cedarville, Ohio—Kevin Vaughn, a freshman music performance major from Fort Bragg, Calif., was the first place finisher in Cedarville University`s annual Concerto Competition on Monday night. Vaughn, a pianist, was selected over second place finisher Kyle McCarrell (trombone), and third place finisher Elizabeth Dudick (voice). McCarrell, a Quarryville, Pa., native, is a junior music performance and multi-age music education major. Dudick is a junior music education major from Wilkes-Barre, Pa. The Concerto Competition is open to all Cedarville University students involved in the music department. Three finalists are chosen by a faculty committee; the three then perform with the orchestra as a panel of visiting professional musicians determines their final awards placement. -30-
