CEDARVILLE UNIVERSITY FACULTY MEMBER TO SING AT TODAY`S WHITE HOUSE DAY OF PRAYER SERVICE Cedarville, Ohio—Cedarville University Assistant Professor of Vocal Music Beth Cram Porter has been invited by the White House to be the featured soloist for today`s 2:30 p.m. White House National Day of Prayer service. Approximately 200 invited guests are expected to attend this private ceremony in the East Room. At the request of the White House, Porter will sing "There is A Balm in Gilead." Porter teaches studio voice at Cedarville and directs the Cedarville University Women`s Choir. She is an accomplished soprano soloist with a distinguished career on the stage and an extensive opera and musical theater repertoire. Her many tours abroad have included one with the Robert Shaw Chorale, in which she was a soloist. Porter received her B.M. from Baylor University and her M.A. degree from Western Carolina University. She has been teaching at Cedarville since 1997. -30-
