Cedarville, OhioCedarville University will host a seminar Thursday, Mar. 18, focusing on helping women to recognize the early warning signs of burn out and to develop strategies for reducing stress.
Deborah Holt, a licensed clinical counselor with Christian Counseling Associates in Huber Heights, will be the speaker. Holt holds a master`s degree in counseling from Wright State University and frequently leads workshops on the topic of women and stress management.
"The ‘Superwoman` suffers from an over-committed schedule, loss of joy in most activities, and may feel a need to please others to her detriment," Holt said. "This workshop is designed to help women of all ages identify the underlying values keeping them on the over-commitment treadmill and learn to replace those ideas with healthy beliefs." Holt said specific strategies to produce lasting change will also be presented.
The seminar will be held from 3:30 p.m.-5 p.m. in the University`s Engineering, Nursing, Science Center. Admission is free, but reservations are requested. To attend, contact Dr. Sandy Shortt at 937-766-7656.
