Cedarville, Ohio-The Cedarville University Jazz Singers will be in concert on Thursday, Nov. 11 at 7:30 p.m. in the Stevens Student Center Theater of Cedarville University. Accompanied by a full rhythm section, the Singers will perform standard jazz arrangements of the compositions of American composer Paul Simon. These works were originally performed and arranged by the New York Voices and are lyrically adapted for the Singers by their director, Dr. Laila Kteily O`Sullivan. Dayton resident John Slate, jazz keyboardist of the John Slate Quartet, will be the special guest. O`Sullivan is an associate professor of music theory, at Cedarville University. Her husband, Jim O`Sullivan, who is adjunct professor of percussion, directs the rhythm section. The O`Sullivans are Springfield residents. Admission is free and the public is invited.
