Cedarville, Ohio-The Cedarville University Department of Music and Art recently received accreditation of their music degree programs from the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM).
"This confirms that Cedarville has a first-rate music program," shared Dr. Steven Winteregg, chair of the department of music and art. "It is terrific to have this confirmed by one`s peers and by NASM, which is an organization that is respected both nationally and internationally."
Cedarville offers three music degrees: a bachelor of music education degree (B.M.E.) in choral or instrumental education; a bachelor of music degree (B.M.) in church music ministry, composition, keyboard pedagogy, or performance; and a bachelor of arts degree in music (B.A.). More than 130 students are part of the music program, and many take part in the 11 vocal and instrumental performance groups at the University.
The accreditation will give Cedarville University graduates more options for graduate school, as graduate music programs generally prefer students from NASM-accredited universities.
