Cedarville, Ohio Dr. O.S. Hawkins, president of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) Annuity Board, will be the guest speaker for Cedarville University chapel services on Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 26-27. Both programs begin at 10 a.m. in the Jeremiah Chapel of the Dixon Ministry Center on the Cedarville campus.
In his position with the Annuity Board, Hawkins guides the management of the retirement accounts of more than 100,000 Southern Baptist ministers and employees. He has 25 years of pastoral experience, having pastored Baptist churches in Oklahoma, Florida, and Texas. He was named Clergyman of the Year by the Religious Heritage of America in 1993.
Hawkins has authored more than 20 books, including "Getting Down to Brass Tacks (Advice from James for Real World Christians)," "Tearing Down Walls and Building Bridges," and "Moral Earthquakes and Secret Faults." He holds a B.B.A, M.Div., D.Min., and three honorary degrees.
