Cedarville, Ohio-Cedarville University will present two Music Showcase Concerts, which will be held Feb. 18 and 19 in the Jeremiah Chapel of the Dixon Ministry Center.
The University`s department of music and art will offer a musical extravaganza on Friday at 7:30 p.m. This concert will feature the University`s vocal and instrumental ensembles, including the brass choir, concert chorale, string quartet, Jubilate, men`s glee club, orchestra, symphonic band, women`s choir, and University Jazz Singers.
Saturday`s concert will begin at 2 p.m. and feature participating students from across the United States who are nominated by their high school choir or band director to participate in the Music Showcase`s honor band or honor choir. Nearly 200 students from around the nation will join for University auditions, rehearsals, and the showcase performance. The honor band, conducted by Michael DiCuirci, and honor choir, directed by Dr. Lyle Anderson, both Cedarville professors, will perform a variety of selections including Come to the Music, Circus Days March, Into the Joy of Spring, Dona Nobis Pacem, Saints Bound for Heaven, Wade in the Water, and a combined rendition of From Sea to Shining Sea.
