Cedarville, Ohio- On Sunday, Dec. 4, Cedarville University will host its sixth annual Community Christmas Concert filled with a variety of talents in celebration of the holiday season.
The evening will include performances by University music ensembles and faculty, including the Cedarville University Jazz Band, Brass Choir, Men`s Glee Club, Harp Ensemble, Orchestra, and Jubilate singers. Special features of the program will be Irish and Scottish Christmas music by The Demerits, carols by the audience, and the reading of the Christmas story by Professor Edward Spencer. The program will conclude with everyone singing the "Hallelujah Chorus" from Handel`s MESSIAH.
The media sponsor for this concert is CDR Radio, The PATH®, which would like to invite all attendees to participate in this year`s Angel Tree® gift drop-off. Angel Tree® is a ministry of Prison Fellowship. Participants can donate new, unwrapped toys, ranging from $10-15, and other gifts for children ages infant to 16 years. There is a specific need for gifts for older children. These gifts will then be delivered to the children of prison inmates on behalf of their incarcerated parents.
The concert and Angel Tree® drop-off will begin at 6 p.m. in the University`s Dixon Ministry Center. Admission is free and open to the public. For more information, contact the University Department of Music and Art at 937-766-7728.
