Cedarville, Ohio—U.S. Sen. Mike DeWine (R-OH) will discuss politics and American culture at Cedarville University on Tuesday, October 11. His 11 a.m. lecture will be held in the Recital Hall of Cedarville`s Dixon Ministry Center.
Although DeWine`s lecture is free and open to the public, it is primarily directed toward students in Cedarville`s new general education class "Politics and American Culture." The class was created to help students engage culture and politics in a distinctly Christian fashion.
DeWine`s visit is sponsored by Cedarville`s Center for Political Studies and Omega Mu (Cedarville`s chapter of the National Political Science Honor Society). The Center for Political Studies was inaugurated on April 12, 2005, as one of Cedarville`s Centers of Excellence. Directed by Dr. Mark Caleb Smith, the Center exists to articulate and teach a biblical view of government while encouraging students to participate and lead in politics.
Members of the media are invited to attend DeWine`s lecture. Interested media members should contact the University public relations office at 937-766-4159.
