Pianist John Mortensen to Perform

Cedarville, Ohio—Pianist John Mortensen will give a piano recital on Tuesday, Feb. 8. The concert will begin at 7 p.m. in the Recital Hall of Cedarville University`s Dixon Ministry Center. Mortensen`s performance will include the "Chaconne in G" by G. F. Handel and Robert Schumann`s rarely performed "Concerto Without Orchestra," a romantic work which was Schumann`s musical love letter to Clara, his bride-to-be. Mortensen is an associate professor of piano at Cedarville University. The Cedarville resident holds a B.M.A. from the University of Michigan and a M.M. and D.M.A. from the University of Maryland. He has studied under Anne Koscielny and Raymond Hanson. The performance is free and open to the public. For more information, call 937-766-7734. -30-
