Cedarville, Ohio-Dr. Steven Winteregg, chair of Cedarville University’s department of music and art, has recently been chosen as a 2006 Concert Music Division ASCAPLUS Award recipient. The award, presented by the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP), is based upon the unique prestige value of a writer’s catalog of original compositions as well as recent performances in areas not surveyed by the society.
Winteregg, a prolific composer, has composed has composed four full-length ballets, including There Was a Time, which was premiered by the Dayton Ballet in April 2006. Winteregg’s compositions have been performed throughout the world by orchestras such as the Cincinnati, Columbus, Delaware, Indianapolis, Milwaukee, and Czech Radio Symphonies.
Winteregg, a resident of Dayton, is a lauded artist who holds degrees in music from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, Wright State University, and The Ohio State University.
