CU Presents All-Choral and Jazz Band Concerts

Cedarville, Ohio-Cedarville University will present the talents of several of its vocal and instrumental groups in concert on Friday, Nov. 3.

At 4 p.m., an all-choral concert will feature the University’s concert chorale, men’s glee club, women’s choir, vocal arts ensemble, ’Ville Singers, and Jubilate. Their diverse repertoire includes classics, spirituals, and anthems. Professor of Music Dr. Lyle Anderson directs the concert chorale, men’s glee club, vocal arts ensemble, and ’Ville Singers, while the women’s choir is led by Associate Professor of Vocal Music Beth Cram Porter. Jubilate is directed by Assistant Professor of Church Music Dr. Roger O’Neel.

At 8 p.m., the jazz band, directed by Professor of Music Michael DiCuirci, will feature guest vocalist Dave Boyer, who has performed with Big Band greats such as Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis Jr. Song selections for the evening include Great Land Medley, In the Mood, and Groovin’ High, as well as other jazz favorites.

Both concerts will take place in the Jeremiah Chapel of Cedarville’s Dixon Ministry Center. Admission is free and open to the public. For more information, call 937-766-7728.
