Cedarville, Ohio-On December 4-5, the Cedarville University Department of Music and Art will present Act I of the American opera “The Tender Land” by Aaron Copland. A coming-of-age story set in the 1930s, the opera centers on a young farm girl who dreams of a better life.
Directed by Dr. Taylor Ferranti, assistant professor of vocal music, the concert includes student performers Karisa Millington, Stacey Keller, Kirsten McCann, Elizabeth Korkosz, Ian Caspar, Conrad Bear, Josh Griffith, Susan Christofer, Sarah Cristoph, Sarah Gibson, and Katie Lutz. The performance will be accompanied by Heather Hayes.
The opera will begin at 6 p.m. on December 4 and at 7 p.m. on December 5 in the Recital Hall of the University’s Dixon Ministry Center. Admission is free and the public is invited. For more information, call 937-766-7728.
