Cedarville, Ohio-Cedarville University honored hundreds of local veterans on November 9 in its annual Veterans Day ceremony. More than 3,000 people were in attendance for the patriotic commemoration.
During a program filled with music and recognition, World War II veteran and POW Louis Zamperini (Hollywood, Calif.) told how his post-war life of alcoholism, bitterness, and despair miraculously changed when he began a relationship with Jesus Christ at a Billy Graham crusade. Retired U.S. Air Force Lt. Gen. Richard V. Reynolds thanked veterans for providing our country with the "great gift of freedom and prosperity," noting that World War II veterans endured losses which were "a level of sacrifice we can hardly imagine in today's terms but which we can never forget."
