Cedarville, Ohio-A challenging film series by Cedarville University President Dr. Bill Brown and CU staff producer Michael Koerbel has received a number of prestigious awards, including silver and bronze Tellys.

Brown and Koerbel's film series, called re:View, is a film-based worldview study designed to help high school and college students understand the culture around them and engage it. Each segment blends a creative drama with a teaching presentation to help students answer meaning-of-life questions and humanity's different approaches to the answers. Koerbel produced and directed the film series, while Brown hosted the teaching segments.

In the film/video NB7 category of the 27th Annual Telly Awards, re:View's drama portion garnered silver, the highest possible award, while the teaching presentations earned a bronze. The Telly Awards is the premier award program for outstanding TV commercials and shows, as well as the finest video, film, and Web productions. This year more than 15,000 entries flowed in from the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators, and corporate video departments in the world.

In addition, re:View's drama portion won a 2006 Aegis Award while its teaching segment came in as a finalist. The Aegis Awards are determined by peer judging, meaning that video/film industry professionals from across the U.S. determine the winners.

Additional awards gained by re:View are two Aurora Gold Awards (one for the teaching segments and one for the drama segments), an Accolade (religion/ethics category), and a silver Davey Award. "We are excited about this recognition for the re:View film series," shared Brown. "re:View is already being recognized as a cutting-edge approach to helping youth engage the entertainment culture around them. Giving them the tools to discern their culture is the best gift we can give them."
