Cedarville, Ohio-They’re sometimes scorned, often ignored, always poor. Unfortunately, many Americans find themselves walking a tightrope of financial instability, desperate to avoid becoming homeless themselves. After all, who would choose to live on the streets, without shelter or food, rejected by society?
Mike Yankoski would … and did. A white evangelical college student from a middle class family, the dark-haired musician with piercing blue eyes decided it was time to see how real his faith in God was. So he spent five months on the streets of America, scrounging and begging for scraps, sleeping under overpasses, discovering what it was like to be cold, hungry … and an outcast.
With only a few essentials stuffed into a backpack, his guitar and traveling companion Sam Purvis at his side, Yankoski left Washington, D.C. and headed for San Diego, Calif.-destined to experience a radical, life-changing adventure along the way.
You’re invited to hear his amazing story at Cedarville University on Thursday, November 15.
