Cedarville, Ohio—Continual academic improvement and strong independent evaluation lead to another ten-year re-accreditation for Cedarville University. The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association noted that “the mission of Cedarville University is clearly articulated and embraced by all constituencies—trustees, administration, faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community members.”

Accreditation assures that Cedarville University is mission driven, plans for future needs, provides a quality education to students, encourages the pursuit of knowledge, and provides excellent services to constituents. On a practical level, it assures prospective students considering Cedarville University that their degree will be recognized by employers and graduate schools. In addition, the federal government requires that the financial aid it provides to students only be used at accredited institutions.

“Academic excellence and service are a significant component of Cedarville University's mission,” shares Dr. Bill Brown, Cedarville’s President. “We are extremely pleased by this positive, independent evaluation of our quality and value.”

During the re-accreditation process Cedarville University was required to complete an extensive self study to determine whether the University was fulfilling on its stated mission. Cedarville’s self study initiative was selected by the staff of the Higher Learning Commission to be placed on display during their annual meeting in the spring of 2008. This represents the high regard afforded the Cedarville self study by the Higher Learning Commission.
