Cedarville, Ohio-Cedarville University’s Dr. Timothy Heaton, assistant professor of education, recently was named to Central State University’s Institute on Urban Teaching Advisory Board.

A Miamisburg resident, Heaton joined the CU faculty in 1987 and teaches education courses. He received his B.A. from Wittenberg University, his M.A. from Grace Theological Seminary, and his Ph.D. from the University of Dayton.

As a member of the Institute on Urban Teaching Advisory Board, Heaton will help develop networks of urban school districts that encourage and implement a “data-based, continuous improvement approach for inclusive practices.” He will be joining a varied group of general and special educators, parents, advocates, researchers, and teacher educators.
