Rod Robison ‘82 got his start in broadcasting three decades ago and has come home to host and produce CDR Radio, The PATH’s Ingathering 2007. Ingathering serves as The PATH's annual on-air fundraiser.
As a sophomore at Cedarville University, Rod began dabbling in broadcasting. "I thought I'd have to do play-by-play as a broadcaster, but I knew very little about sports," Rod recalls. "Not to mention the sheer terror of the technology, of which I knew nothing." With the encouragement of his academic advisor, Jim Phipps ‘68, Rod jumped into the world of broadcasting and has never looked back.
Rod’s work in Christian radio and television spans more than 30 years. Currently, he is vice president for development at Family Life Communications in Tucson, Ariz. where he has served since 1988.
Commenting on his involvement with Ingathering 2007, Rod says, "I'm thrilled to be able to assist the organizations -- both CDR and the University – that gave me the opportunity to build a foundation for my career in Christian broadcasting. Ingathering is going to be a lot of fun, but, more importantly it will be an opportunity for listeners to pass on the blessing God has given them through CDR."
CDR Radio, The PATH will celebrate 45 years of broadcasting during the annual fundraising drive October 15-20. Originating from the campus of Cedarville University, the station will open up the phone lines(1-800-333-0601) and web to invite listener support.
